The lives of moms are all too often consumed with wearisome, empty striving. We work to keep up appearances, meet worldly standards, and find satisfaction in the offerings of this life such as success, admiration, and ease. However, God has set eternity in a mother's heart, and deep inside, we long for more.
In Heavenly Minded Mom, author and blogger Katie Bennett beckons us into a new way of viewing our present reality by rising above the ordinary and routine to see a bigger plan and purpose for motherhood.
This uplifting book offers moms the wisdom of Ecclesiastes, wrapped in the hope of the Gospel, and presented in bite-sized portions. The 90 compelling meditations, scripture readings, and invitations to journal and reflect, will encourage us to reevaluate how we envision our lives and to claim a heavenly mindset towards our mothering tasks. These inspirational readings will help us discover a new way of looking at our responsibilities as a mom through God's eyes.
Embrace a simpler life filled with God's promises and love as you reflect on God's powerful work as it has woven through your past and present in anticipation of its impact in the future and your spiritual legacy.
Heavenly Minded Mom: A 90 Day Journey to Embrace What Matters Most Reviews
This is not your typical "fluffy" devotional for women. Katie packs powerful, Gospel-soaked truth onto every page that will challenge you to dig deep into Scripture and truly begin to adjust your vision to see your life the way God sees it- divinely designed for His purposes and His glory, through and through. Cannot recommend this enough for those who are serious about gaining an eternity-minded perspective and allowing it to shape your thoughts and days. And PS, you definitely don't have to be a mom to benefit from this wisdom!
I have loved reading Heavenly Minded Mom by Katie Bennett.
This devotional is meant to be taken one at a time for 90 days, read, meditated on and applied to life.
Every mother should read this book.
From one mom to another, you need this book. . . . short, powerful devotions, options of deeper readings, Scripture-based, real-life, it's all here.
If you're still reading, here's why. . . If you’ve ever felt stuck, not as close to God as you want to be, lost in the chaos of daily life, adrift. . . then you need this book. Well, I sure did anyway. Every page is packed with messages from heaven, guidance from God that has helped me start the process of tilling up the soil of my heart, cleaning out the cobwebs and planting the seeds of eternity. I love everything about this book but especially the bite sized, manageable pieces of every devotion. If you have the time, there are more Scriptures to read and ponder but if I just have the time to read the one page, that’s all it takes to get life-changing challenges to the rut I’ve found myself in. Katie doesn’t mince words. These are powerful, challenging devotions meant to make you really think about how you live your life and where you’ve boxed God in or put other idols above Him. And man, am I thinking and man is my life changing! There is such freedom in knowing God and putting Him where He belongs in my life. Katie, thank you for being His voice and helping me get there!
Heavenly Minded Mom is a no-fluff, gospel-drenched devotional that will take you to the throne-room of the Father. If you've found yourself ever succumbing to the worries of today instead of looking at today in light of eternity (and who of us hasn't?), then you must get your hands on this book. A classic devotional in the making, Heavenly Minded Mom is a tool for worship that I will go back to again and again.
Heavenly Minded Mom is full of encouraging daily devotions that really make you think. Each devotion reflects on things that we face as moms. Katie combines scripture, reflection, and journaling questions to make you think.
This is a devotional that I would buy as a gift for a friend. I would definitely recommend it.
