The New Yorker Book of Cat Cartoons Reviews
Got this for Christmas. It's got 'em all from Charles Adams to Roz Chast's Cat Diary -- a classic.
I live with 7 cats.
Seemed appropriate to read this as I finished The Portable Dorothy Parker. Mrs. Parker has said that there are "many books supposedly written by cats, though maybe it isn't only supposedly." Who knows?
actually I have a book of new yorker cat cartoons called cats cats cats that I picked up at a local flea market (no pun intended). it's pretty good, and the two year old likes it. there's nothing as good in it as this one dog cartoon I once saw in the ny showing a dog at a bar ordering a scotch and toilet water, but cats cats cats has its moments.
3 1/2 stars.
I can't help it; I love books about cats. This tiny one is packed with cartoons from the New Yorker magazine.
There is one in particular that hits home for me. It shows a man looking at his cat while saying, "The fact that you cats were considered sacred in ancient Egypt cut no ice with me."
